Jaipur, January 26
Veteran BJP leader, former Rajya Sabha MP and party treasurer Ramdas Agrawal passed away after a long illness at his residence here in the wee hour of Thursday.
He was 80 and was suffering from lung disease for the past one year.
Agrawal was also the state BJP president for seven years during former chief minister BS Shekhawat’s tenure, and was two-time national party treasurer.
Agrawal also founded Akhil Bhartiya Vaishya Maha-Sammelan and was thrice its president.
The cremation will take place at the Chandpole cremation ground in the afternoon.
He leaves behind wife and three sons.
Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and state party president Ashok Parnami have condoled the death saying the party had lost an outstanding leader who served the BJP at all levels.
