The University of Southampton, in collaboration with the British Council India, has announced two ‘GREAT-Southampton-India Scholarships’ to provide financial support to meritorious Indian students so as to encourage them to enroll for a programme at the University.



The University of Southampton, in collaboration with the British Council India, has announced two ‘GREAT-Southampton-India Scholarships’ to provide financial support to meritorious Indian students so as to encourage them to enroll for a programme at the University. These scholarships are applicable for over 50 taught Masters programmes offered at the Faculty of Social Sciences in subjects such as Economics, Social Statistics, Demography, Global Health, Gerontology, Sociology, Social Policy and Criminology, Political Sciences, International Relations, Mathematical Sciences, Education, Business and Management Studies as well as Legal Studies. 

Eligibility: Applicants must be Indian nationals residing in India and considering submitting a fresh application to any relevant degree programme starting in September 2018. Those who currently hold a conditional or unconditional offer to any of the eligible taught master’s programme at the University of Southampton are also eligible. However, the scheme is not available for those who are in receipt of any funding either from University of Southampton or any external funding body.

Details: Each scholarship will cover the entire tuition fee of the student.

How to apply: The students are required to complete the GREAT-Southampton-India Scholarships application through the University’s Postgraduate Admission System - https://www.southampton.ac.uk/courses/taught-postgraduate.page and then forward their application reference number to the [email protected]

2. Dean’s Excellence awards

The Strathclyde Business School, Glasgow  is  offering 'Dean's Excellence Awards'.   Five scholarships will be awarded to high quality international applicants to undergraduate degrees for entry in 2018/19.

Details: Awards of £2,000 will be made to the successful applicants, and this will be deducted from the tuition fee in each year of undergraduate study with the Strathclyde Business School.

How to apply: Applicants will require to submit a short written submission on an organisation they admire, the post they would want to hold in the organisation and the impact they would make on that organisation.

Eligibility- This award is only available to international fee-paying students who have applied to the Strathclyde Business School Undergraduate degree and hold a conditional or unconditional offer to study (BA Business, BA International Business, Integrated Master International Business and Modern Languages).
