University of Jammu invites online applications for admission to two-year BEd regular course for the session 2018-20 in the non-government colleges of education affiliated to the University of Jammu.

Eligibility: 45 per cent marks at graduation level for general category and 40 per cent for SC/ST categories in the faculties of arts, science, social sciences, commerce or faculty of music & fine arts from the University of Jammu or an exam of any other recognised university.

  • Bachelor's degree recognised by UGC
  • The degree is granted by a university established by an Act of Parliament or an Act of State Legislature; and
  • A person as long as he/she is on the rolls of BEd course shall not be eligible to attend any other course of instruction or appear in any other exam of the university

nA print-out of the same to be taken and application fee be deposited through the challan generated by the system in any branch of the designated banks.

nThe fee can also be paid through e-banking/ debit card/ credit card.

PhD placement programme 

The British Council, in partnership with the Departments of Science and Technology (DST) and Biotechnology (DBT), invites applications for funding support for short-term placements in United Kingdom (UK) and Indian institutions between March to October 2019.

Eligibility: In India, the scheme is open only for Indian scholars enrolled at Indian higher education institution with following criteria:

  • Inspire PhD Senior Research Fellows (SRFs) of batch are eligible to apply for a stem and life sciences subject. PhD scholars (other than Inspire Fellows) who have qualified through national level test and are pursuing PhD in mid second or third year of life sciences are eligible. 
  • PhD scholar (other than Inspire fellows) who have qualified through national level test and are pursuing PhD in mid second or third year of life sciences are eligible to apply. 

How to apply: Submit your application with endorsements from both the sending and receiving relevant heads of department. 

nIn addition, the receiving institution must confirm that they will host, give details of the duration of stay and amount of bench fees, if charged (applicable only for UK host universities).

Doctoral programme

University of Calcutta (CU), Kolkata, invites applications for admission to Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme in Department of Botany for the session 2018.

Eligibility: Post Graduate students of Botany (or allied disciplines, subject to endorsement by the concerned PhD Committee). The eligibility of the candidate will be as per UGC rules.

nThose who have qualified in NET/SET/SLET/GATE/Teacher Fellowship or already obtained M Phil/MTech/M Pharm degree would be exempted from the examination as per UGC rules.

Bachelor of Pharmacy 

The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Apeejay Stya University (ASU), has announced admissions for Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm), a four-year industry-oriented programme endorsed by reputed industrial houses pertaining to the domains of pharmaceutical sciences and related fields.

The programme has been approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). It has been designed in collaboration with reputed pharmaceutical organisations. 

Eligibility: Minimum 50 per cent aggregate marks in 10+2/Class XII with PCM (physics, chemistry, mathematics) or PCB (physics, chemistry, biology) from any recognised board.

All eligible applicants shall be shortlisted on the basis of their academic performances and aptitude followed by a mock test.
