Fatehgarh Sahib admn, officials face minister Chetan Singh's ire

Fatehgarh Sahib, July 28

The district administration and health officials had to face the ire of Health Minister Chetan Singh during his visit to the district hospital, Fatehgarh Sahib, today over poor arrangements, lack of maintenance and the absence of the SSP. He also expressed his displeasure to the Deputy Commissioner.

At the same time, the minister was also on the wrong foot as he, along with his supporters, entered operation theatres and the labour room with shoes on, which is strictly against the norms.

It is worth mentioning that though the visit of the Health Minister was pre-planned and all arrangements were made by the health authorities, the condition of toilets and cleanliness were far from satisfactory. Patients also complained to the minister about poor facilities.

While interacting with the media, the minister said government hospitals would not be allowed to remain just referral hospitals as the government was committed to providing latest equipment and medical facilities to each and every hospital in the state as promised by the AAP.

He said staff must develop a friendly and cooperative attitude towards patients coming for treatment. He also directed the authorities concerned to ensure proper hygiene and cleanliness in hospitals.
