Patiala, June 15

After a long interval, the district has witnessed a slight increase in fresh Covid-19 cases.

The district reported six positive cases of Covid today. The count of active cases, following the fresh cases, has risen to 25. Of six new Covid cases, five were reported from Patiala city, while one was reported from Kauli block of the district.

The Health Department said around 25 positive cases had already been reported over the past six days. When asked about the potential reasons of ascent in Covid cases in the district, Dr Sumeet Singh, District Epidemiologist, said the spike in cases was not only limited to the Patiala district, but the entire region was witnessing a rise in cases of coronavirus. He said no new variant of the Covid had been confirmed so far.
