Patiala, October 21

The MC will soon start re-carpeting of the road connecting the level crossings 21 to 24 for Rs1.40 crore.

The one end of the road, which connects Sant Nagar, Sewak Colony and other areas, is dotted with potholes while the other end, adjacent to Majithia Enclave, was recently dug up for laying sewer lines.

“The road is in a bad shape. The work has been pending for long due to which residents face difficulty in commuting,” said a shopkeeper.

MC Joint Commissioner Lal Vishwas said: “We have completed the sewerage and road gully installation. pavers will be installed in a few days, following which the entire stretch connecting railway crossings 21-24 will be re-carpeted. We are spending Rs65 lakh on the road connecting railway crossings 21-22 and Rs75 lakh on railway crossings 22-24.”
