Patiala, March 1

The Pepsu Road Transport Corporation (PRTC) chairperson, Ranjodh Singh Hadana, conducted a surprise check and suspended two ticket inspectors for dereliction of duty and sought explanations from four other staff members today.

Hadana informed that during checking, discrepancies were found and two inspectors of the Ludhiana depot were suspended while explanations were sought from four employees.

The PRTC chief mentioned that efforts were on to improve the functioning of the department, increase revenue and enhance public convenience.

He said checking was conducted at the Ludhiana depot and significant irregularities were discovered in bus passes and online counter bookings records. Hadana said every aspect related to bus pass issues, including counting, entries in registers, hologram accuracy, etc, was thoroughly checked.
