Patiala, July 21

Punjabi University has become the first state university to digitise works related to its research branch and make it paperless.

University officials said all works related to admission, enrolment, submission of thesis and others in the research branch would now be done digitally. The university has over 3,500 research scholars.

Officials said they had collected information about the PhD students in all departments and they were being provided with login IDs.

They said with the implementation of the paperless process, the research scholars would be able to trace their applications and their status reports, including eligibility certificate, enrolment application, registration application, annual seminar application, PhD thesis submission status, evaluation status and pending fee, at a click of mouse.

“Deans of faculties and research, and even the dealing clerks at the research branch will evaluate and process the applications on the portal. Thesis too will also be submitted online,” the officials said.
