PU online course on digital marketing bags 15th rank globally

Panjab University’s (PU) MOOC course on digital marketing has bagged the 15th spot on the 30 best online courses list globally for 2019. The rankings have been released by Class Central, a search engine that list thousands of free online courses from top universities around the world such as MIT, Stanford and Harvard.

According to Class Central, of the total 2,400 online courses offered in 2019, 30 best online courses have been indentified based on the Bayesian average method. The list also includes the courses offered by world’s top universities such as University of Leeds, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of British Columbia, University of Texas and so on.

At the PU, the course is being offered by Dr Tejinderpal Singh, Associate Professor at University Business School on Government of India’s online education platform, ‘Swayam’. The first batch of the course was concluded in November 2019 where around 8,000 students registered for the course. According to Dr Tejinderpal, “The course has 40 modules covering various domains of digital marketing such as search engine marketing, display advertising, email marketing, social media marketing, Google analytics, etc. All modules have been developed with a focus on practical learning of all digital marketing tools.

He said there was no fee for the course and anyone interested in learning digital marketing could join the course. The next batch will begin in July this year.
