Ropar, August 2

The police have booked two stone-crusher owners for allegedly running their plants without permission.

Mining Inspector Rakshit Chaudhary stated in his complaint that Baba Amarnath Stone Crusher (licence expired on June 11) at Sultanpur was found operational around 2 am on August 1 and a large quantity of raw material was found lying on the spot. A case under the Mines and Minerals Act has been registered against owner Sukhpreet Singh.

Mining Officer Rajinder Kumar lodged a complaint against Shir Ram Stone Crusher at Kheral Kalmot. Its licence had expired on April 24. Nearly, 8,000 cubic foot of processed material was found on the spot on August 1.
