Kanwar Sandhu (62) Kharar
A seasoned journalist, he worked with several leading newspapers before switching over to the electronic media. Known for taking a tough stand against the Badal government, he is chairman of AAP's Punjab Dialogue Committee.
Sukhpal Khaira (51) Bholath
A Bishop Cottonian, he lost in 2012 to SAD's Bibi Jagir Kaur. A good orator, he was among the few Congress leaders who campaigned for Manpreet Badal in the 2014 parliamentary elections from Bathinda.
Jagtar Singh Rajla (50) Samana
A former Congress leader and a SAD ex-MLA from Samana, he joined AAP in December 2015. Son of former MLA Hardial Singh Rajla, he was considered a close confidant of late Akali leader Gurcharan Singh Tohra.
Joginder Singh Chhina (57) Dinanagar
A transporter, he was once a loyalist of Rajya Sabha MP Partap Singh Bajwa. Two years ago, he left the Congress and rejoined the SAD. A year ago, he left the Akalis and jumped on to the AAP bandwagon.
Kartar Singh (64) Tarn Taran
Padam Shri and Arjuna awardee, he was an Asiad gold medallist wrestler. Has also served in the Punjab Police as an SP. Remained Director Sports, Punjab.
Jagtar Singh Sanghera (61) Nakodar
He is the convener of the AAP NRI cell. Served as Deputy General Manager, Punjab Mandi Board, for 25 years. Took up the cause of pensioners who were settled abroad and were denied some pension benefits. The government later withdrew its order.
Charanjit Singh Channi (74) Nawanshahr
A former MLA from Nawanshahr and ex-MP from Hoshiarpur, he joined AAP just three weeks ago. His father, Dilbag Singh Saini, was a seven-time MLA. Channi won the Assembly elections in 1997 as an Independent and the Hoshiarpur Lok Sabha seat in 1999 on the Congress ticket.
Paramjit Sachdeva (53) Hoshiarpur
A social worker, he is running the Jagjeet Singh Sachdeva School for special children, besides old age homes and orphanages. Has organised eye check-up camps and helped Hoshiarpur become a corneal blindness-free district. Holds MA degree in English
Harjyot Kaur (26) Banga
An MBA, she was an IAS aspirant before she got drawn towards AAP and became their leading volunteer in Banga.
Dr Charanjit Singh (55) Chamkaur Sahib
An eye specialist, she has been working in Morinda for the past 25 years. Has organised around 600 free eye camps and conducted operations on 30,000 patients.
Dr Ranyodh Singh Sran (49) Dharamkot
A doctor, he is likely to be pitted against Agriculture Minister Tota Singh. Known as a social worker who has been organising mass marriage of underprivileged girls.
Jagdeep Singh Sandhu (35) Gidderbaha
A former Akali activist, he was once a close aide of SAD’s Muktsar constituency incharge Kanwarjit Singh ‘Rozy Barkandi’, but parted ways about two years ago. A Class-XII passout from Muktsar town, he was junior to IYC chief and local MLA Amrinder Singh Raja Warring in school. His wife is the sarpanch of Fattanwala village in Muktsar district.
Nazar Singh Manshahia (56) Mansa
B.Tech in civil engineering, he got premature retirement from the Punjab Pollution Control Board to join AAP. Is the zonal incharge (Bathinda) of the AAP Kisan wing. Highlighted air and water pollution caused by a brewery and a refinery in Bathinda. He was transferred several times for taking on politically well-connected industrialists.
Parimal Singh (37) Bhadour
A trained lineman, he is the president of the Unemployed Union, Punjab, and the Lok Lehar (a social organisation). Has been leading protests against the state government over unemployment.
Kulwant Singh Pandhuri (44) Mehal Kalan
A journalist with a vernacular daily, he was among the anti-sacrilege protesters when the Behbal Kalan police firing incident took place last year, leading to the death of two youths.
Meet Heyar (27) Barnala
A graduate in mechanical engineering, he is the vice-president of the AAP Youth Wing. Youngest candidate on the party’s third list.
Lakhbir Singh Rai (46) Fatehgarh Sahib
An advocate, he is the convener of the AAP RTI wing. Has been exposing wrongdoings and scandals through information obtained under the RTI Act.
Kulbhushan S Minhas (43) Sujanpur
An advocate, he served as the president of the DBA, Pathankot, for two terms. Is now a co-opted member of the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana. His family runs a NGO, Bhartiya Chetna Manch.
Gurpartap S Khushalpur (46) Dera Baba Nanak
Son of a freedom fighter, he was once close to Ranjit Singh Brahmpura. Remained Chairman of Punjab Labourfed for nine years. His name was to be announced in the first list, but was 'blocked' by the then state convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur.
Amarjit Singh Thind (34) Shahkot
Holds an MBBS degree. Has been organising free medical check-up and blood donation camps. Known as a philanthropist.
Hansraj Rana (52) Adampur
A Dalit activist, he is the vice-president of the AAP SC/ST wing, Jalandhar. Has been the president of the Sri Guru Ravidas Sabha for the past 21 years, besides being the president of the Panj Daryaa social welfare association.
Sulkhan Singh Jaggi (43) Mukerian
A progressive farmer, he has been practising diversification of crops and spreading awareness about its benefits.
Saroop Singh Khadiana (41) Phillaur
A Sikh preacher and a social worker, this matriculate has been taking on the Akalis over their alleged interference in religious affairs.
Amarpal Singh (32) Sri Hargobindpur
An advocate, he joined the party three years ago. Was earlier associated with Anna Hazare's movement. He provides free legal aid to women and farmers.
Darshan Lal Bhagat (54) Jalandhar West
A manufacturer of sports goods, he has remained member of the District Planning Board and an Independent councillor. Joined AAP in May this year. Belonging to the "Bhagat biradari", he has been picked to take on BJP MLA Chunni Lal Bhagat.
Sarvjit Kaur Manuke (43) Jagraon
She is an MA in Economics. Left a teacher’s job to join the Aam Aadmi Party
Manjit Singh Bilaspur (39) Nihal Singh Wala
A graduate, he worked for Ajit newspaper for about 20 years. Has written a book, ‘Taraf Dar Taraf’
Vinod Kumar (44) Bhoa
A former journalist, he has been a member of the Block Samiti of Bhoa. Has studied till Class XII.
Gulshan Sharma (60) Jalandhar North
A graduate, he is pursuing LLB. Works as an iron and steel trader.
