Jalandhar, November 3

An FIR was lodged today against a Jalandhar-based doctor for conducting sex determination tests in violation of the PCPNDT Act.

Dr Balraj Gupta from Ratan Hospital in Jalandhar was booked under Sections 420 and120B of the IPC and Sections 3, 4, 18 and 23 of the PCPNDT Act, said SHO Rashpal Singh.

A Mission Discovery agency team of the state government, comprising mission director and field officers, raided the Ratan Hospital following a sting.
