Moga man ends life over wife’s affair



Moga, January 20

A 29-year-old man, upset over his wife’s extramarital affair, allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at Mandar village in Dharamkot sub-division of Moga district.

The deceased has been identified as Kamalpreet Singh. He got married to Simranpreet Kaur of Raika Buth village of Taran Tran district on January 7. As per social custom, two days after marriage, his wife went to stay at her parents’ house for a few days. It was during this period, he came to know that his wife was having an affair with a youth from her vicinity.

He went to his in-laws’ house to bring his wife back, but she refused to return.

The police have registered an abetment to suicide case against Simranpreet, her mother Baljinder Kaur and paramour Jas, a resident of Jod Singh Wala village of Tarn Taran district. — TNS
