Chandigarh, June 23

The Punjab Government today promoted four ADGPs, all IPS officers of the 1992 batch, to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP). With these promotions, the state police now have eight DGPs.

Those promoted today are Sharad Satya Chauhan, Harpreet Singh Sidhu, Gaurav Yadav and Kuldeep Singh. While Chauhan is heading the security wing, Sidhu is head of the Prisons Department. Yadav is posted as Special Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Kuldeep Singh is in-charge of the Internal Vigilance Cell. Yadav is son-in-law of former DGP PC Dogra and IAS/IPS/IRS training batchmate of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
