Punjab Local Bodies Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu took on his own government in the Vidhan Sabha today for failing to act against former Akali minister Bikram Singh Majithia over alleged acts of omission and commission during the previous regime.

Sidhu’s diatribe came after a spat with Majithia who, along with other  SAD and BJP MLAs, targeted the minister over his remark after the Pulwama attack.

As Speaker Rana KP Singh, after 20 minutes of acrimonious scenes, suspended the SAD-BJP legislators and adjourned the House, a livid Sidhu said, “We should be ashamed we are not taking any action against Majithia.”

Sidhu’s outburst took CM Capt Amarinder Singh by surprise, more so after Sidhu was backed by fellow minister Sukhjinder Randhawa.  who  “dared the government to show the Akali leader his place on the floor of the House.”
