Indian airline carriers Indigo, Spice Jet and Jet Airways are going to start new flights from Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport to various domestic and international destinations in the winter season. Low-cost carrier Indigo will operate a daily Hyderabad flight from the airport from September 15, and Spice Jet is starting direct daily flights to Goa and Bangkok from November 6.
Jet Airways will connect Amritsar with Manchester in the UK via Mumbai four days a week from November 6. The Jet flight will go to Mumbai and then passengers will connect to the Manchester flight after about 1 hour and 40 minutes. Booking for these flights is available on the airline’s website.
For exporters, traders and the business community of the region, Spice Jet’s dedicated cargo freighter arm Spice Xpress is also starting its maiden cargo operations from the Amritsar airport.
The direct flights to Hyderabad will connect the region with the technology hub. Visitors can now complete the journey in just 2 hours 45 minutes and to Goa in just three hours.
