CHANDIGARH:Riding on Rishi Dhawan’s and Nikhil Gangta’s half-centuries, Himachal Pradesh scored 244/5 against hosts Punjab on Day 1 of their Group B Ranji Trophy match at PCA Stadium in Mohali.

Chandigarh, December 6

Riding on Rishi Dhawan’s and Nikhil Gangta’s half-centuries, Himachal Pradesh scored 244/5 against hosts Punjab on Day 1 of their Group B Ranji Trophy match at PCA Stadium in Mohali. Dhawan scored 61, while Gangta hit 58 runs with the help of eight boundaries. At stumps, Ankit Kalsi (50) and Ekant Sen (0) were at the crease. For Punjab, Sanvir Singh (2/40) and Sandeep Sharma (2/50) were the most successful bolwers.

At Jammu, Uttar Pradesh bowled out hosts Jammu and Kashmir for 290 as slow left-arm orthodox bowler Saurabh Kumar picked up six wickets in their Group C match. In reply, J&K hit back to leave UP reeling at 31/3. 

At Agartala, Rahul Dagar hit a hundred as Haryana ended the day at 258/7 against Tripura in their Group C match.
