IPL 2021: Punjab take on Sunrisers

CAPITALS GAIN: Delhi Capitals beat Mumbai Indians by six wickets in a low-scoring IPL match in Chennai on Tuesday. Chasing 137/9, Delhi made 138/4 in 19.1 overs. Opener Shikhar Dhawan was the top-scorer for Delhi with 45 runs. Earlier, leg-spinner Amit Mishra took four wickets for 24 runs to help Delhi restrict Mumbai to a below-par score despite a good start by the defending champions. Skipper and opener Rohit Sharma top-scored for Mumbai with 44 runs. PTI

Chennai, April 20

Bruised and battered after suffering a hat-trick of defeats, a desperate Sunrisers Hyderabad would seek inspiration from skipper David Warner to arrest any further slide when they take on Punjab Kings in an IPL match here on Wednesday.

Punjab are a tad better than SRH, having registered one win out of three games to be placed at seventh in the standings, a rung above their Wednesday’s opponents.

Chasing has been Sunrisers’ achilles’ heel so far in the league. They failed to get past a low score against Mumbai Indians in their last match. Punjab too are on a losing streak after the win in their tournament opener over Rajasthan Royals. They lost to Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals. — PTI
