NEW DELHI, April 21 (PTI)-A public sector undertaking for the manufacture of missiles may be set up soon. This was indicated by the Miniser of State for Defence Production, Mr. L.N. Mishra, while intervening in the inconclusive debate in the Lok Sabha today on the Budget demands of the Ministry of Defence. Mr. Mishra said that an offer for the manufacture of missiles had been received from a foreign firm and it was being considered by the Government. His speech was also marked by two more announcements. One was that as a result of the work done by defence research and designs organisation. It was proposed to manufacture a new type of field gun. The other announcement was that a ‘re-heat system’ for the HF-24 fighter aircraft had made progress and a decision on its acceptance was likely to be taken shortly.
