Three more mobile phones have been seized from inside the Bathinda Central Jail. While two mobile phones were seized on Thursday, one mobile phone was seized on Friday. On the complaint of jail officials, the police have registered two cases against unidentified persons in this regard.

In both cases, complaints were lodged by Joginder Singh, Assistant Superintendent, Central Jail, with the Cantt police station. He said in the first case, during checking conducted inside the jail on February 13, two mobile phones, two batteries and one charger were seized from the bathroom of barrack No.8.

In the second, a touch screen mobile phone and a charger were recovered from the terrace during checking in Cell No.2 in zone number 1 inside the jail on February 14.

Cantt police station said they had registered two cases against unidentified persons under Section 54-A of the Prisons Act and started a probe.

Earlier this week, seven mobile phones were seized and now with three more mobile phones being seized from the jail, the tally has reached 10.
