U’khand skill development app launched

DEHRADUN:The Uttarakhand Skill Development Application that will allow residents of the state to access information about skilled workers comprising electricians, plumbers and mechanics was launched jointly by Principal Secretary, SMEs, Manisha Panwar and Principal Secretary, Technical Education, Om Prakash at a workshop on skill development today.

The Uttarakhand Skill Development Application that will allow residents of the state to access information about skilled workers comprising electricians, plumbers and mechanics was launched jointly by Principal Secretary, SMEs, Manisha Panwar and Principal Secretary, Technical Education, Om Prakash at a workshop on skill development today. 

Om Prakash said the mobile phone application would not only provide information about trained workers but also facilitate others to register themselves and for learning these trades.

He said under the Uttarakhand Skill Development Mission, the youth of the state were being provided training and jobs in 35 different sectors. “This year, 3,517 persons were provided training in different trades and then jobs and around 10,000 unemployed will be provided jobs,” he said. 

The Uttarakhand Skill Development Mission is also coordinating with different state departments for enhancing job opportunities and skills of the youth according to their requirements. — TNS
