Berlin: After Shanghai in China, Elon Musk has chosen Berlin as Tesla's next gigafactory outside the US where the company is planning to invest $4.4 billion and produce 1, 50,000 cars a year. The Berlin unit will manufacture SUV Model Y, which could go into production by 2021. The unit could initially employ 3,000 people. The headcount could rise to 7,000, Express.co.uk reported on Sunday. "Everyone knows that German engineering is outstanding and that's part of the reason we're locating our gigafactory Europe in Germany,” Musk said last week. Tesla Shanghai gigafactory is first wholly-owned foreign auto factory in China. IANS

Cambodian Princess who rebuilt ‘Apsara’ dance dies 

Phnom Penh: Cambodian Princess Norodom Bopha Devi, a former culture minister who helped resurrect traditional ‘Apsara’ dance from the ashes of the brutal Khmer Rouge rule in the 1970s, died on Monday at the age of 76, premier Hun Sen said. Daughter of late king Norodom Sihanouk and half sister of current monarch Norodom Sihamoni, Bopha Devi died from an illness in a Bangkok hospital, according to family. In a condolence letter shared on the PM's Facebook page, Hun Sen said her death marked “the greatest loss of a multi-skilled actor in the cultural sector”. He declared November 20 a national day of mourning and for flags to fly at half-mast. AFP
