India’s plans to bypass Pakistan while stepping up its trade ties with Afghanistan and Central Asia moved a step closer. The second Trilateral Working Group Meeting between India, Iran and Uzbekistan on the joint use of Chabahar Port was held on Tuesday.

The move will increase the use of Chabahar Port in Iran to step up its trade and economic engagement with Central Asia and Afghanistan, bypassing Pakistan. — TNS
