Union Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office Jitendra Singh today said the Saddal-Panjar village in Udhampur district, which was washed away in the September rains and floods, would be developed as a smart village.
Singh has already adopted the village for reconstruction.
In a statement, Singh said the Love Care Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, will help in accomplishing the task in a time-bound manner.
The foundation is a constituent unit of the Concentrix India.
The hutment for rehabilitation will be ready at Panjar by the next month and the major work for developing a smart village will be accomplished in the next 18 months, the minister said.
The Love Care Foundation office bearers led by Ravinder Rana, general manager, Concentrix, today called on Jitendra Singh in New Delhi and presented to him a detailed rehabilitation and smart village plan for Panjar.
The office bearers informed Singh that so far an amount of Rs 50 lakh had already been spent on the project and an additional budget will be allocated for the remaining part of the project as well.
Singh, while appreciating the generous gesture by the foundation, said he had committed to spare whatever amount possible for the project from his MPLAD fund, but since the budget was very huge, the support offered by the Love Care Foundation and the Concentrix India would be appreciated by one and all.
