Students take part in the mini-marathon organised as part of the Army Day celebrations in Beas.



Amritsar, January 18

Over 250 students participated in a mini-marathon organised as part of the Army Day celebrations at Beas near here on Saturday.

Students from five schools in Rayya and Beas participated in the marathon. The purpose of organising the mini-marathon was to motivate children to join Army and to create awareness on the importance of fitness and a healthy lifestyle. Commander Double Victory Brigade flagged off the event which was conducted for both boys and girls of local schools. The event saw an overwhelming response from school children as well as civilians.

Civilians and defence personnel gathered, cheered and encouraged the students to perform well. — TNS
