Member of Parliament Gurjeet Singh Aujla on Thursday held a meeting with officials of district administration and Prof Nagarajan Ramamoorthy, director, Indian Institute of Management(IIM), Amritsar, to expedite the process of constructing the permanent campus of the institute at Manawala.
Deputy Commissioner Shivdular Singh Dhillon, Prof Nagarajan Ramamoorthy, Vishesh Sarangal, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development), and Vikas Heera, SDM attended the meeting.
Gurjeet Singh Aujla said, “The entire land had been acquired to build the campus, but around one acre is yet to be acquired. We will be paying the owner of the land correct value, otherwise legal options will be explored, but the campus will be built as soon as possible.” He also expressed his happiness for prestigious IIM-A being established here in the district. He extended his support in construction of the management campus.
“CM Capt Amarinder Singh has extended his support to construct the campus. I have been raising the issue in Parliament as well,” he added.
