The police recovered two weapons — a .12-bore gun and a .32-bore revolver.

The accused are brothers of two notorious drug peddlers Sandeep Singh and Gurditta Singh, who have a number of cases registered against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, said the police.

ASI Baldev Singh, investigating officer, said the police got a tip-off that Ravinder Singh had weapons. However, the weapons were often used by his brother Manpreet Singh. The same was also kept in the house of Manpreet, which is an offence.

He said a raid was conducted at the house of Manpreet and both weapons were recovered. Though Ravinder was arrested, Manpreet managed to flee.

He said a case under Sections 25, 27, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act was registered against them and further investigations were on.
