Tarn Taran, January 18
Five persons, including four of a family, of Sarhali village, 22 km from here, have been booked for allegedly abducting a girl of the same village.
According to Sub-Inspector (SI) Gursharanpreet Kaur, the girl’s father in his complaint to the police accused Sukhjit Kaur, Nirmal Singh, his mother Ranjit Kaur, brother Deepu and sister Gaggu of luring away the girl on the pretext of marriage.
Nirmal Singh is said to have taking away the girl from her house in connivance with others in the night hours around a week ago. A case has been registered under Sections 363, 366-A and 120-B of the IPC.
