TARN TARAN: The Khemkaran police on Friday arrested a man, who had stolen nine Gutka Sahib from the gurdwara of Mehindipur village, 45 km from here, on Wednesday.

The Khemkaran police on Friday arrested a man, who had stolen nine Gutka Sahib from the gurdwara of Mehindipur village, 45 km from here, on Wednesday. SP (Investigations) Harjit Singh Grewal said the accused had been identified as Surjit Singh of the same village. He is said to be an addict. The accused had entered the gurdwara to steal cash. A case under Sections 354, 380 and 295 of the IPC has been registered. The SP said Lovepreet Singh Granthi of the gurdwara had lodged the complaint. The incident was captured in the CCTV cameras of the gurdwara. The SP said the accused was produced before a court which sent him to three-day police custody.
