Love is in the ink this time

February 14, a calendar day of love, is celebrated with something new trending every year. The recent trend is getting oneself inked.

Couples are opting to get inked to show love towards each other. It can be their wedding date, names of each other or any personal symbol of love. “The most popular trend among the newly married couples is getting their initials, wedding anniversaries and the names of their partners tattooed,” says Ashu Singh, a tattoo artist.

A city-based couple, Akash and Radhika, got their anniversary date inked in an interesting way with an art work themed beauty and beast.

Bhupinder Singh, another tattoo artist, shares that one of his clients got the door of hotel, where he first met his wife, inked as a memory.

Another symbol of love is the ever popular red rose. A variety of rose themed bouquets, flower arrangements and gifts have flooded the market ahead of Valentine’s Day or V-Day.

As sweet as the feeling of being in love itself, chocolates are another way to make the day special. City bakers have customised chocolates, including stuffed ones and even some with small surprise gifts for your loved one. The gift options popular this time are watches, photo frames, perfumes and the chocolates for boys and flower rings, chocolate bouquets and soft toys for girls. Young couple Uditanshu and his girlfriend Vidhi, both students, are planning to spend the day on a long drive.

Meanwhile, hotels, clubs and restaurants are offering theme parties on the day. Many of the pubs are organising V-Day DJ parties with free entry, interactive couple games, live bands and a lavish food buffet.

Trillium Mall will hold a photo shoot for the married couples on Valentine’s Day meeting with their requirements. They will also organise a ramp show on the mall premises. Special gifts and offers are on cards for lucky few.
