Seven two-wheeler thefts rattle city

AMRITSAR: Unidentified thieves stole seven bikes and scooters from different parts of the city here on Thursday.

Unidentified thieves stole seven bikes and scooters from different parts of the city here on Thursday.

Pawan Kumar, a local resident, reported to Division C police station that unknown persons took away his motorcycle that was parked outside his residence. Another complainant, Sushil Kumar, reported to the Gate Hakima police that his and his friend’s motorcycles were stolen from outside his house.

Similarly, Ajit Ram of Verka informed the police that he had parked his bike outside Canara Bank in Verka which was stolen. Another resident, Vikram Gupta, lodged a complaint with Division A police station regarding stealing of his bike from outside Axis bank near bus stand here.

Gurmukh Singh’s scooter was lifted from outside his shop while Surjit Singh’s bike was stolen when he parked it near the Company Gagh gate and went for shopping nearby. The city police have registered separate cases of vehicle theft in this connection.

Meanwhile, the Gate Hakima police nabbed a vehicle lifter. He has been identified as Darshan Singh, alias Billu, of Nawa Kot located on Chabal road here.
