Under-construction building in Bakarwana Bazaar sealed

The estate wing of the MC has sealed an “illegal” building under construction at Bakarwana Bazaar, Sheran Wala Gate. The Tribune had highlighted the encroachment on MC land on January 16. Advocate Ravi Mahajan had mentioned in his complainant that a local resident was constructing a hotel illegally on the MC land in Sheran Wala Gate. An MC team visited the property and sealed the under construction building.

Estate Officer Sushant Bahatia said, “We stopped the construction a few months ago. The occupant resumed the construction. Now, we have sealed the building.”

Officials said the occupant failed to provide any ownership document. The complainant claimed that the land belonged to the MC. “We asked the occupant to provide the documents, but he failed. We are investigating the matter and will check the land record of the MC,” said Bhatia.
