BATHINDA: City schools celebrated Children’s Day with zeal and enthusiasm and organised various events such dance and poetry on the occasion.

City schools celebrated Children’s Day with zeal and enthusiasm and organised various events such dance and poetry on the occasion.

Guru Harkrishan School 

Children’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School. To pay tribute to the legendary freedom fighter Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India, a special assembly was conducted on Novemeber 13 in the school. Students spoke about the life of Chacha Nehru and recited poems on the occasion. To come out with something new for students, the school organised ‘fun and frolic fair’. The campus was buzzing with excitement and joy. Fun, frolic and fiesta were seen at lush green lawn and in the play ground. The highlights of the amusement event included joy rides, trump line, bull ride, commando net and merry go round. Magic tricks showcased in the magic show supplied great fun to the students. 

Delhi Public School

A ‘bal mushaira’ was organised at Delhi Public School on the occasion of birthday of India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, which is celebrated as Children’s Day. About 40 children participated in the event and presented their poems in various languages. The chief guests of the event were Sandeep Singh, Dean Students Welfare and Head of the Department of Punjabi, Akal University, Talwandi Sabo, and writer Brijmohan Shant. Principal Arun Jee welcomed the chief guests.

In the event organised under the name ‘Roshni di rekha’, children presented their poems on various subjects. A special morning assembly was organised in which schoolteachers presented various programmes. Later, student poets and poetesses took charge of the stage. Some children presented poems of famous poets Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, Amrita Pritam, Pash and other poets. 

Arya Girls Senior Secondary School

Under buddy group initiative, students presented a skit on drugs and its bad effects on society. Students gave a message that avoiding use and selling of drugs can open new avenues for the younger lot of the state. Apart from this, other extra-curricular activities were also organised at the school. 

Daddy’s Teddy Playway

Tiny tots of Daddy’s Teddy Playway School celebrated Children’s Day by organising a dance competition. Winners of the competition were awarded certificates and prizes. A cake was also cut and distributed among kids.

Universal Public Senior Secondary School 

Students of Universal Public Senior Secondary School, Talwandi Sabo, also celebrated Children’s Day by organising various activities, including cultural activities and march past by students and other competitions. 

Dasmesh Public School

Various cultural activities and dance activities were organised to celebrate Children’s Day at Dasmesh Public School. Competitions of various kinds were organised and winners were awarded with cash prizes by the school management and principal.

Police DAV Public School 

Children’s Day, also known as ‘bal diwas’ is celebrated to raise awareness among people towards the rights, care and education of children. To commemorate the day, an activity were organised for UKG toddlers of Police DAV Public School, in which the students used ‘play dough’ in making ‘red roses’ embracing the deep love and enthusiasm Chacha Nehru had towards the children. The day laid emphasi on the importance of giving love, attention and affection to children.
