Bathinda, August 20

The parents of a 16-year-girl, who went missing around a month ago, have accused the police of inaction.

While addressing the media, Santosh Kumar and Pushpa Rani, residents of Parjapat Colony, today alleged that their daughter Jyoti had gone from the house on July 11 in the morning but did not come.

The parents said they had lodged a complaint at the Thermal police station and a case was registered but since then, the police had done nothing to find their daughter.

They also alleged that they had a doubt on two persons and told the police about them, but they did not take any action. “We also met the SP (H), Bathinda, but to no avail. We urge the senior police officer to instruct the police officials concerned to find our daughter. We will be left with no option but to protest in front of the Thermal police station,” the parents added.

ASI Baldev Singh of the Thermal police station said they were tracing the girl and questioned many persons in this regard. He said soon, the girl will be traced. — TNS
