‘Strengthen Congress at grassroots’

FATEHGARH SAHIB: MLA Kuljit Singh Nagra handed over the appointment letters to the newly nominated office-bearers of the District Congress Committee (DCC) today.

MLA Kuljit Singh Nagra handed over the appointment letters to the newly nominated office-bearers of the District Congress Committee (DCC) today. Subhash Sood, president, DCC, constituted the district committee comprising 19 senior vice-presidents, 91 vice- presidents, 105 general secretaries, 128 secretaries, an executive general secretary and a press secretary.

Nagra said the Congress has always recognised services of its dedicated workers. He called upon the Congress activists to strengthen the party at grassroots level and highlight achievements and policies of the state government. The MLA said workers were backbone of the Congress. He said Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has taken various steps to tackle corruption and workers should keep a close eye on corrupt officials.

Sood said the Congress has always stood for weaker section of the society. He said communal forces should be exposed in the country. — OC
