1,769 cases settled in National Lok Adalat

PATIALA:The National Lok Adalat pertaining to all types of cases (except non-compoundable criminal cases) was held under the supervision of Executive Chairman, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, Mohali, Justice TPS Maan, here today.

The National Lok Adalat pertaining to all types of cases (except non-compoundable criminal cases) was held under the supervision of Executive Chairman, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, Mohali, Justice TPS Maan, here today. 

During Adalat, cases under different categories were taken up for settlement. As many as 4,290 cases were taken up of hearing, wherein 1,769 cases were settled through mutual compromise between parties. During the National Lok Adalat, attendees were appealed to resolve their dispute amicably by taking recourse to the National Lok Adalat. 

The primary objective of the Lok Adalats is to settle disputes amicably through compromise so as to save time and money of the parties concerned. Except non-compoundable criminal cases, all kinds of cases even at the pre-litigation stage can be brought before the Lok Adalat, for amicable settlement.
