AG Haryana, Punjab win on Day 1

CHANDIGARH:AG Haryana blanked AG Himachal Pradesh 3-0 in the opening match of the Indian Audit and Accounts Department North Zone Hockey Tournament, which kicked off at the Sector 42 Sports Complex here today.

Chandigarh, December 9

AG Haryana blanked AG Himachal Pradesh 3-0 in the opening match of the Indian Audit and Accounts Department North Zone Hockey Tournament, which kicked off at the Sector 42 Sports Complex here today. 

Sunil Shah put AG Haryana ahead in the third minute and Tribeni Prashad doubled their lead a minute later. Sarvjeet Singh then struck in the 15th minute to make it 3-9 for the side.

AG Himachal tried to make a comeback, but an alert Haryana defence guarded their territory well to seize a comfortable win in the end.  

In another match, AG Punjab drubbed AG J&K 4-0. Deepanshu Bhargava (2nd), Pawan Bassi (4th), Ravinder Singh (18th) and Chandeep Singh (58th) scored a goal each for AG Punjab.  — TNS
