Gangster Dilpreet Dahan was discharged from the PGI on Friday and brought to the District Courts in Sector 43 in a police ambulance. The police were granted two-day remand to further interrogate Dilpreet, find out about his accomplices and to recover more weapons.

After the police moved an application, Dilpreet was exempted from going inside the courtroom and stayed in the ambulance. He was seen lying inside the ambulance, getting up occasionally and speaking to policemen. The policemen said he could not sit up or walk and hence the application was moved.

The court staff, including the reader and the naib, came to the ambulance to obtain Dilpreet’s signature on the remand papers. The police have booked him under Section 307 (attempt to murder) and under the Arms Act.

May need another surgery

According to doctors at the PGI, Dilpreet may have to undergo another surgery later.  The doctors said currently he was responding well and did not require any indoor treatment. Hence, he was discharged. As Dilpreet had suffered a fracture, the doctors had placed a rod to heal the wound. After two weeks, his stitches will be removed and the doctors will again assess whether he requires another surgery.
