Patients were at the receiving end as paramedical staff was busy pleasing their bosses during the opening ceremony of an e-health centre at the government dispensary in Dhanas here today.

Patients, including women in the family way visiting the dispensary for routine check-up, were denied entry and asked to visit tomorrow.

Patients lamented that as the lone doctor at the dispensary was busy hosting the function, there was no one to attend to them. “It has been nearly two hours since I am waiting for doctor to come and examine me,” said an old woman.

Another woman, who had come with her mother-in-law for treatment, complained that even after the function got over, the staff and the doctor were not available. “The function ended long time ago and we are still awaiting staff to examine us. For how long will we have to wait for treatment?” she asked.
