Himachal girls beat Maharashtra 2-0

CHANDIGARH: Hockey Himachal registered a 2-0 win over Hockey Maharashtra in a Pool B match at 9th Hockey India Sub-Junior Women National Championship 2019 (B Division) in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, on Monday.



Chandigarh, May 20

Hockey Himachal registered a 2-0 win over Hockey Maharashtra in a Pool B match at 9th Hockey India Sub-Junior Women National Championship 2019 (B Division) in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, on Monday. 

Priya scored the opening goal for Himachal in the 14th minute and Radha doubled the lead 11 minutes later to ensure an easy win for the side. 

In another Pool B match, Kerala Hockey beat Goans Hockey 2-0. Shifna T (24th) and Abhitha AS (42nd) scored a goal each for Kerala. 

Earlier in the day, Andhra Hockey Association registered a 3-1 win over Chhattisgarh Hockey in Pool A match. Revathi T (5th), Susmitha M (44th) and Sandhya J (52nd) struck for Andhra, while Chhattisgarh Hockey's only goal came through Sonam Sahu in the 50th minute. 

In another Pool A tie, Manipur Hockey downed Bengal Hockey Association registered a comfortable 2-0 victory over. Tanu Shorensangbam (33rd) and Ayingbi Chanu Takhellmbam (60th) scored a goal apiece for Bengal. 

In Pool C, Hockey Uttarakhand defeated Sports Authority of Gujarat - Hockey Academy 3-0. Chandni Katariya (42nd), Prachi (44th) and Megha Bhatt (45th) hit home for Uttarakhand. 

Shileima Chanu Khaidem scored four goals to help Hockey Madhya Bharat register a 5-0 win against Vidarbha Hockey Association. 

Shileima scored in the 17th, 25th, 37th and 48th minutes. — TNS
