Himachal girls log 6-0 win over Kerala

CHANDIGARH:Hockey Himachal handed a 6-0 drubbing to Kerala Hockey to register their second win in the 9th Hockey India Sub-Junior Women National Championship (B Division) in Sikar, Rajasthan, on Friday.

Hockey Himachal handed a 6-0 drubbing to Kerala Hockey to register their second win in the 9th Hockey India Sub-Junior Women National Championship (B Division) in Sikar, Rajasthan, on Friday. 

Jaismeen Sharma (22th, 40th) and Radha (33rd, 37th) scored a brace each for the hill state.

Earlier in the day, Chhattisgarh Hockey registered a 7-0 win over Bengal Hockey Association. After a sedate first quarter, Chhattisgarh girls changed gears, scoring three goals each in next two quarters, thanks to a double from Sonam Sahu (16th, 24th) and a hat-trick from skipper Monika Tirkey (32nd, 36th, 53rd).

Revathi T (3rd, 53rd) scored a brace, while skipper Bharani S (17th) struck once to help Andhra Hockey Association beat Manipur Hockey 3-0. This was Manipur Hockey’s second loss in two days after going down to Hockey Patiala on Thursday.  

After conceding 10 goals in their first match against Hockey Himachal, Goans Hockey went down 0-9 to Hockey Maharashtra in their second match.
