Migrants attacked, robbed of cell phones

MOHALI:Three weeks after a group of men attacked and looted five under-construction houses in Balongi and took away Rs 8,000 and five mobile phones, two more houses faced an identical attack late last night.

Three weeks after a group of men attacked and looted five under-construction houses in Balongi and took away Rs 8,000 and five mobile phones, two more houses faced an identical attack late last night. This time, the victims lost Rs 4,200 and four mobile phones to around 10 attackers.

The victims, who are migrants and involved in the construction work of these houses at TDI City, claimed that they were injured by the assailants, who were carrying swords and sticks.

The episode lasted two hours after which the attackers fled. One of the victims informed their contractor, who reached the spot and informed the police.

On September 28, residents of five under-construction houses in the Balongi and Kharar area had reported that five 

persons attacked them in the wee hours and took away five mobile phones and Rs 8,000.
