Patiala, July 17

A couple of miscreants, reportedly burglars, sneaked into the Chest and TB Hospital late Monday evening. The unidentified men entered the MDR ward of the hospital.

They reportedly tried to steal money and ransacked the ward.

A senior hospital official said patients raised an alarm following which the miscreants ran away.

The authorities further informed that no untoward incident was reported.

The patients informed the doctor about the incident on Tuesday.

Interestingly, the government had launched Bedaquiline drug for drug-resistant TB patients.

Vishal Chopra, professor, Chest and TB Hospital, said: “I was on leave, but we have filed a complaint with the police. They have assured us of increasing night vigil at the hospital.”
