Chandigarh: Namaste Chandigarh Complex (NCC), Derabassi, defeated Mani Majra Cricket Centre (MMC) by 101 runs in the opening match of Hindostan Humara T-20 Cricket Cup.



Chandigarh: Namaste Chandigarh Complex (NCC), Derabassi, defeated Mani Majra Cricket Centre (MMC) by 101 runs in the opening match of Hindostan Humara T-20 Cricket Cup. Batting first, NCC scored 146 runs in 17.1 overs, with Nishant Silvania scoring a 42. Varun contributed 22 runs to the total. Anant Singh claimed four wickets, while Vishal bagged three wickets for the bowling side. In reply, MMC were all out for 45 runs in 8.4 overs. — TNS

Fox India log 6-wkt win

Chandigarh: Fox India defeated Hotels XI by six wickets in the ongoing 1st Arising Cricket Cup on Monday. Batting first, Hotels XI scored 135/9 in 20 overs, with Abhilash smashing a quick-fire 61. Sarab chipped in with a 32. For the bowling side, Ajay Bharadwaj claimed 4/7. In reply, Fox India posted reached home in 13.4 overs six wickets to spare. Harry made a 44. — TNS

Punjab boxers shine

Mohali: Punjab boxers brought laurels to the state by winning two gold, four silver and two bronze medals in the 63rd National School Games held at Dehradun. In the girls’ event, Tanishbir Kaur won a gold medal, while Sandeep Kaur, Chandni Mehra and Komalpreet Kaur bagged a silver medal each. Diksha Rajput finished her campaign with a bronze. In the boys’ category, Kuldeep Singh won gold medal, while Akashdeep Singh and Prateem won silver and bronze medal, respectively. — TNS

Bodybuilding trials on Dec 16 

Chandigarh: Chandigarh Amateur Bodybuilding Association will organise trials to select the team for the Junior National Body Building Championship and Men’s Classic (open) Body Building Championship, on December 16 at Bon Sante Gym, Sector 17. The national championship is scheduled to be held  from January 6.  — TNS
