Man held for raping 20-yr-old

AMBALA: The police have arrested a man for allegedly raping a 20-year-old girl in Ambala City.

The police have arrested a man for allegedly raping a 20-year-old girl in Ambala City. The accused has been identified as Sahil, a resident of Baldev Nagar.

As per the information a couple of months ago the accused had developed friendship with the victim and then took her to his aunty’s house in Mandhor village where he raped her after giving a cold drink laced with intoxicants.

He clicked victim’s obscene pictures, made a video and used them to blackmail her. Recently, when she denied meeting him again the accused sent those pictures to her brother. He was produced before a court, which sent him to one day police remand.

As per the information Sahil was arrested for raping a minor and recording an obscene video last year too. He remained at the Central Jail for nearly seven months and had come out on bail a few months back.

The SHO, women police station, Sunita Dhaka, said “The accused has been arrested and sent to one day police remand by the court. The bike used by the accused will be recovered during the remand.”

A case was registered under Sections 376, 328, and 506 of the IPC, against the accused, she said. The accused was arrested last year under the POCSO Act, she added.

Meanwhile, another case has been registered against the accused for voluntarily causing hurt and deterring public servant from her duty.

As per the information during questioning, Sahil caught hold of a women ASI from her neck and pushed her down. In her complaint, investigating officer, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Suman, stated that Sahil was arrested in context with the rape case and brought to the women police station. During questioning, all of sudden Sahil caught the ASI from her neck and pushed her down during which she sustained injuries. He attempted to flee from the police station, but was caught again.

A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 332, 353, 186 and 224 of the Indian Penal Code at the Baldev Nagar police station in this connection.
