Cops recover 12 more cars from vehicle thieves

MOHALI: The local police today recovered 12 more cars from a gang of car thieves, which was busted with the arrest of its three members last week.

Mohali, April 11

The local police today recovered 12 more cars from a gang of car thieves, which was busted with the arrest of its three members last week. The police had recovered eight cars, a scooter and at least 28 various tools and equipment to unlock vehicles.

The arrested members were identified as Surjeet Singh (46) from New Delhi, Gursewak Singh, alias Sewak (48), from Hoshiarpur and Baljinder Singh, alias Binda (29), from Tarn Taran.

Mohali SSP Harcharan Singh Bhullar said after the previous recovery, the police today recovered five more Alto cars, three Swift cars, one Indigo, one Chevrolet Optra, one Etios Liva and one Zen at their behest.

“We are hopeful of more recoveries,” said SSP Bhullar. A case in this regard has been registered at the Sohana police station here.
