State Health Minister Anil Vij today said the strike by National Health Mission (NHM) employees is unjustified. The employees who don’t want to work are being terminated and new employees would be hired soon.

The NHM employees have been on strike for the past 14 days and they have further extended their strike for three more days.

Speaking to mediapersons, Vij said: “The strike by the NHM employees is unjustified as all their demands have already been accepted. The authorised union of the NHM employees is on duty. There is a group of employees who go on strike repeatedly just to disturb the health services by raising unjustified demands. The services of these employees are being terminated and new employees will be hired soon.”

Meanwhile, the employees association said if their demands were not met, the association members would soon start a hunger strike.

They were demanding amendment in service bylaws, job security, clearance of pending dues and an end to the outsourcing policy.
