Three city boxers in national camp

CHANDIGARH: Chandigarh’s Avneet Kaur, Sohini and Savita are among the 60 pugilists that have been shortlisted for the national camp, which commenced at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday.

Chandigarh’s Avneet Kaur, Sohini and Savita are among the 60 pugilists that have been shortlisted for the national camp, which commenced at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday.

The trio was rewarded for their show at the recently-concluded 3rd Elite Women’s National Boxing Championships at Vijayanagar, Karnataka.  

The camp also includes six-time world champion MC Mary Kom and three other medal winners at the AIBA World Championships held in New Delhi in November. 

The World Championships and the 2020 Tokyo Games probables will also be shortlisted from the camp.
