The Delhi and UP Police will launch a joint action programme to rein crime with an enhanced coordination between the two. The higher officials of both the states conducted a meeting to formulate a combined plan and also discussed traffic problem in Delhi at length.

The Joint Commissioner of Delhi Police Ravinder Yadav said the criminals after committing the crime move to either sides in both the states. According to the data with both police in Delhi and western UP, there are over 100 such criminals who after committing crime take shelter in the other state. This includes more than two dozen big criminals who are involved right from extortion to ‘supari’ killers.

Now, to apprehend the big criminals, both the police will launch a joint plan.

The UP Police was represented by the Meerut range IG Raj Kumar and Delhi Police by Yadav.

The discussion was conducted on reining crime, checking on the borders, to make the transportation system effective in the meeting.

An agreement was also reached to impart information to the personnel deployed on the border checking posts about the geographical information of the border areas. Senior Superintendents of Police from Ghaziabad and Bagpat were also called in the meeting.

In the process, Delhi and the UP police have handed over the lists of their most wanted criminal to each other. Any information received will be immediately shared.

According to Yadav, the matter concerning with the surrendering of the criminals was also raised. As the UP Police has been acting strictly nowadays, the hardcore criminals have surrendered themselves in Delhi.

Further, on the border areas special police post will be built and the police personnel deployed will meet each other regularly and exchange the information and both the states will conduct combined patrolling and take action.

After crime, the most alarming situation for Noida and Delhi Police is bad traffic. For the improvement of traffic on the roads connecting both the states, new plans will be made. At Delhi-Ghaziabad borders, there are few places where during peak hours, the traffic system gets paralysed. Kalandi Kunj, UP Gate and Loni Border have been prominently demarked to curb the traffic flow, the officer added.
