Gang of touts who cheated foreigners held

NEW DELHI: Police has busted a gang of active touts with the arrest of two accused: Tarik Ahmed (37) and Guljar Ahmed Karnai (37) – both resident of Srinagar, said police.

Police has busted a gang of active touts with the arrest of two accused: Tarik Ahmed (37) and Guljar Ahmed Karnai (37) – both resident of Srinagar, said police.

As per DCP (New Delhi), complaints were received in various police stations at New Delhi area regarding a gang misleading foreign nationals to buy costly items and traditional ornaments, as the touts were targeting foreign nationals roaming here. Following the modus operandi, police arrested the accused from Connaught Place.

The accused have been active for long but they could not be nabbed so far as they spend their winters in Delhi and take shelter in J&K in summers. Moreover, both accused resided away from the area of occurrence to remain out of reach from police, DCP added. – TNS
